| The busy rural town of BLANGKEJEREN , 72km from Ketambe, stands at
an important crossroads and has connections with both the west and east
coasts; buses to and from Kutacane run hourly (3hr). Blangkejeren also
lies at the heart of a marijuana-growing region; the locals use it in
their cooking. As most buses leave Blangkejeren in the morning, you may
have to stay overnight: Rahmat, Jalan Besar, Gang Tengah 200 (tel
0642/21023; under $5), 250m south of the bus station, has the best and
cheapest accommodation, with huge clean rooms, and Juli, Jl Kong Bur 53
(tel 0642/21036; under $5), is another popular option. |
